Happy New Year, how about a new keyboard?
Wed, January 4, 2006 at 4:35PM HOWEVER, I am very stoked to get rid of my Edirol PCR-50. Some of the keys simply stopped registering any velocity. And I am NOT one to wail and slam on the keys, so I chalk it up to being 3 years old. But I would expect more from Edirol products.
This Pro 88 weighs in around 55 lbs, and has what seems to be semi-weighted keys, though the documentation boast they are fully weighted. Good enough for me. I aint no professional pianist... But I do feel I am ready for the added response. And man, it's just a pleasure to play. It feels a lot more solid, and with point by point comparisons between the old keyboard and the new... this M-audio makes the Edirol seem like a toy.
The pots are not nothed, which makes using them for automation a lot more enjoyable. And the sliders are super long, so fine adjustments should be much easier. And the damned readout is GIGANTIC! I love it so far.
Now to make some music!

Happy New Year! Congrats on the new keyboard. My space is ultra-limited down here, so I hear you on the size issue. I've had really good luck with M-Audio products (Delta 66 Soundcard, Omni I/O, Ozone controller and Studiophile BX5 monitors), so I'm sure you'll be pleased with your new purchase. I have concerns with power usage (solar power, baby!), so I can't always get as big as I would like...I've only got 25 keys. Spare some keys?
No! I will not spare any. I totally and completely use all 88 every single time I write... Actually, I am definately under-utilizing this thing thus far. But the potential! So far I'm happy with the new M-Audio gear. (Delta 66 as well!)
I found this site using google.com And i want to thank you for your work. You have done really very good site. Great work, great site! Thank you!
